Clean eating is very simple. A proper diet should consist of quality protein, healthy fats and complex carbohydrates in the correct amounts. That's it!
Don't fall victim to today's popular dieting hacks. They aren't optimal and they are usually low quality, highly processed and filled with chemicals. Some examples are protein chips and low calorie junk food like "diet" ice cream and sugar free treats.
Your body needs real food that it can digest and absorb. My nutrition plans are based around quality, digestibility, micronutrients and healthy fats. This way you can properly absorb your food and get all the nutrition you need to make your body happy and healthy.
Supplements are there to supplement a proper diet, not to replace it. While I do recommend a few basic supplements, you can get most of what you need from eating right and hydrating properly.
Smaller, frequent meals (2-4 hours apart) allow you to digest and absorb your food more easily and efficiently. This not only increases your chances of assimilating nutrients properly, it keeps your blood sugar stable all day, maintains proper digestion, reduces abdominal distension and keeps cravings at bay.
I don't have a problem with Intermittent Fasting IF you can eat all of your food in the allotted amount of time AND digest it properly. "IF" can work great when trying to lose weight, however if you're trying to grow, it's going to be tough to get a lot of calories in and properly absorb them in a shortened eating window.
Can you lose weight without exercise? Of course. If you want to improve your body composition however (more muscle, less fat), then resistance training is important.
The style you choose should consist of three factors:
1.) What can you adhere to?
2.) What do you enjoy?
3.) What are your goals?
Resistance training will stimulate muscle growth, help you maintain/build strength as you age, improve bone density, increase metabolism and keep you looking and feeling younger overall.
I recommend a minimum of three workouts per week. The number should be based on how many times per week you can fit in a workout and how many workouts you can recover from.
Yes! I will give you a resistance training workout program based on the equipment you have access to, how many days per week you can train, what your goals are and we will work around any injuries you have.
